1) Selection of lubricating oil. The selection of lubricating oil with suitable viscosity and good quality is of great significance to the normal operation of the internal combustion engine and the extension of its service life. Therefore, the basic principles of choosing lubrication are: (1) Choose according to load and speed. For those with high load and low speed, such as some large diesel engines, lubricating oil with high viscosity should be used; while for those with low load and high speed, such as gasoline engine, lubricating oil with low viscosity should be used. (2) Choose according to region, season and temperature. In cold winter areas, such as northeast and northwest regions, lubricating oil with low viscosity and low freezing point should be used; the temperature is higher throughout the year, such as Jiangnan area should choose lubricating oil with higher viscosity. (3) Select according to the wear condition of the internal combustion engine. If the service life is long and the parts are worn out, the oil with higher viscosity should be selected appropriately, and the lubricating oil with lower viscosity can be selected for the new internal combustion engine. (4) Special lubricating oil should be used for internal combustion engines equipped with superchargers. (5) According to the provisions of the internal combustion engine instruction manual, select the specified brand of lubrication.

 2) The lubricating oil is clean. When filling lubricating oil, make sure that the fuel filler port and the fuel container are clean to prevent the intrusion of dust and sand; maintain the lubricating oil filter on time; maintain the air filter and fuel filter on time to prevent impurities from entering the crankcase from the cylinder.

 3) Lubricating oil temperature. The normal working temperature of lubricating oil is 45~90℃. The internal combustion engine should be warmed up first after starting, and then put into operation or driving when the standby oil temperature is higher than 45°C. When the ambient temperature is high, the working time is long, and the lubricating oil temperature is higher than 90°C, you should run at idle speed and wait for the temperature to drop before working.

 4) Prevent moisture from being mixed into lubricating oil. Prevent moisture or rain from entering the lubricating oil when refueling. When the oil level of the crankcase is found to be elevated during operation, the cause should be analyzed in time, and the working conditions of the water pump water seal, cylinder block, cylinder head and other components should be checked to eliminate the fault.

 5) Prevent the fuel from mixing into the lubricating oil. Maintain the normal working temperature of the cooling system. The normal water temperature of a water-cooled internal combustion engine is 80~95℃, and the temperature of the cylinder head of an air-cooled internal combustion engine should be less than 120℃. Too high a temperature will accelerate the oxidation and deterioration of the lubricating oil; too low a temperature will cause a part of the mixed gas entering the cylinder to condense into liquid and flow into the crankcase. Maintain the good working condition of the fuel system, timely check and adjust the fuel supply advance angle of the high-pressure pump and the fuel injector and the quality of fuel spray atomization to avoid poor fuel atomization and vaporization, and flow into the lubricating oil along the cylinder wall.

 6) Prevent the pollution of lubricating oil by exhaust gas. Install the piston ring correctly; the gap between the piston and the cylinder liner, and the gap between the valve and the pipe should be appropriate; keep the crankcase well ventilated and seal clean.

 7) Timing of lubricant replacement. The quantity and quality of lubricating oil should be checked before starting the internal combustion engine in each shift. When one of the following conditions occurs, the lubricating oil on the dipstick should be quickly drained, or the lubricating oil should be dripped on paper to quickly diffuse. It means that the lubricating oil is too thin; squeezing the lubricating oil with your fingers, it feels that there is no smooth oil film and black, and there is a smell of fuel; there are too many metal chips in the lubricating oil.

 Lubrication replacement is generally after the new car or the machinery after the overhaul has completed the test run; the diesel engine runs for every 600h, the gasoline engine runs for every 400h (about 14000km); when it is winter or summer, it is necessary to only refuel without changing the oil, and replace the oil with supplementary oil. The undesirable phenomenon.

 8)The lubrication system is cleaned. Clean the lubrication system when replacing the lubricating oil. The method is to drain the old lubricating oil while it is hot, add a mixture of clean lubricating oil and diesel oil (4:1) to the mark under the dipstick, and stop the engine after idling for 3 to 5 minutes, and then add new lubricating oil.
