Precautions for long-term parking of excavators

1. Check and maintain the machine

Before long-term storage of the excavator, check and maintain the entire machine. Remove the soil contaminated on the fuselage, lubricate various parts of the machine, and release the coolant in the engine; change the engine oil. When the excavator is parked for a long time, the old oil will easily corrode the metal parts of the engine. In addition, it is necessary to fill up with diesel oil to avoid rust on the inner wall of the diesel tank.

2. Remove the battery and store indoors

The battery is prone to lose power in a cold environment. If possible, remove the battery and store it indoors. When removing the battery, first cut off the negative wire, and then cut off the positive wire; when installing, connect the positive wire first, and then the negative wire. Because the electrical system of construction machinery is negative ground, this is to prevent short circuit when disassembling the battery.

3. The correct parking position of the excavator

The excavator should be parked on a solid and flat ground, and wood should be padded before and after the crawler track to avoid harsh environments such as humidity, salt and alkali, and dust. The piston rods of the big boom, the forearm and the bucket are all retracted, and the oil cylinder is in a large cavity state. After taking it back, it is recommended to find a few pieces of cloth to cover the exposed cylinder.

4. The excavator starts once a month

Start the engine once a month and check whether the antifreeze and oil are in the normal position before starting. Please add it in time if it is not enough. Start the engine and operate each cylinder at idle speed for 5-10 minutes without load for 5-10 times, and then operate each cylinder at high throttle for 5-10 times. Simultaneously operate left and right rotation and forward and backward travel 5 times each. Until the temperature of the water temperature gauge rises to the middle of the scale line, continue to operate the working device for 5-10 minutes before stopping the engine.

5. The air conditioner runs once a month

Run the air conditioning system once a month. First, let the cab heat up, and then let the refrigerant circulate in the air conditioning system for a week to keep a certain thickness of oil film at the sealing ring of the air conditioning system to prevent leakage of the refrigerant.

6. Install door lock to prevent theft

When the excavator is parked outdoors, be sure to check and empty the valuables in the excavator. If necessary, install a few locks of your own to prevent items from being lost and stolen.
